Masses on 4th Sunday of Advent & Christmas
The question has come up since Christmas falls on a Monday this year: “If I go to Mass on Christmas Eve (Sunday), does it count for both the Sunday and the Holy Day?”  No.  Since there are two separate feasts (4th Sunday of Advent and Christmas) there are two separate obligations, or, we should say, opportunities, to celebrate Mass.  The liturgy for the 4th Sunday of Advent is different from the liturgy for Christmas.  We are called to celebrate the Eucharist both days, since we are always to celebrate the Eucharist on a Sunday, and Christmas is a Holy Day of Obligation.  However, the precept to attend Mass does not apply to any specific liturgy.  One may fulfill both obligations by attending a Christmas Eve Mass on Sunday, and then also a Christmas Day Mass on Monday.  The liturgies on Saturday evening and Sunday morning will be for the 4th Sunday of Advent, and those of Sunday evening and Monday will be for the Solemnity of Christmas.  Confused?  Just go to two Masses between Saturday evening and Monday evening, and praise God for the gift of Jesus Christ who comes to us in every Mass!

Winter Scripture 2018 with Sister Clarinda -
The Gospel of Luke (12 sessions)
Luke’s gospel tells us there is a final nuance to Luke’s portrait of Jesus, and this deals with the faithfulness of Jesus’ God. Luke begins his Gospel with this theme as he tells how promises have been fulfilled in the birth of Jesus; he ends it with the theme as he tells how promises has fulfilled promises in raising Jesus from the dead. This God will surely be faithful to promises made to Jesus’ followers who journey from all corners of the globe to take up their places at the heavenly banquet with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. the fee for the class is $30. For registration form, click here
