St. John's was recently recognized in the archdiocesan newspaper, The Catholic Spirit, for its welcoming environment. St. John's Ambassadors at the Welcome Desk are looking for a few new recruits. Short term replacements are needed for:
J Mondays, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
J Wednesdays, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
J Fridays, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
J Fridays, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
For those unable to commit to a regular time slot, on-call substitutes are needed, too. If you like people, and you know how to talk on the phone, then this is the volunteer opportunity for you. SHHH! CAN YOU KEEP A SECRET?
The Franciscan Retreat House at Prior Lake, MN, is a beautiful, peaceful, and quiet place to be with our Lord. Our Annual Women's Retreat is for three days, Tuesday through Thursday, or Friday through Sunday. We have Mass everyday, four conferences, Confession, Rosary, Stations of the Cross, and private time for walking the beautiful grounds or meeting with a priest for spiritual direction. Everyone has a private room, and the food is delicious. Ladies from St. John's have gone for many years, and we always come home spiritually refreshed. The Circle of Women invites you to join us for our:
ADVENT TEA BY CANDLELIGHT
Tuesday, December 5
7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
St. Joseph Hall
You can either host a table of eight, or, if you prefer, just sit with others at one of the tables. If you are interested in hosting a table, you would be in charge of decorating your table (dinnerware, candles, party favors if you'd like, etc.) and supplying the dessert (can be bought or homemade). Circle of Women will supply the beverages. Music will be provided by Laura Krystofiak, St. John's parishioner.
The sign-up sheet is located in the hallway by Little Lights Preschool. If you would like to host a table, please write your name on one of the blank hostess cards. You may also have a co-host. If you would prefer to just attend, sign up under the hostess name of your choice on the sign-up sheet. It's that simple!
