Helpers needed to prepare The Forerunner newsletter for mailing on the third Tuesday of every month. Socialize while you work!
ANGEL TREE This is our holiday giving ministry. Parishioners are needed not only to donate gifts, but to deliver the presents to Ralph Reeder Center.
HOSPITALITY AFTER MASS Coffee ministers are needed to provide refreshments after all weekend Masses, holy days, and holidays. Trained leaders make coffee and oversee each Mass time.
WELCOME DESK Staff the Reception Desk in St. Paul Plaza. Duties: answering phones; greeting and directing guests. Regulars and subs needed; will train.
WELCOME COMMITTEE Welcome new parishioners during Newcomer Registration the first Sunday of each month, and assist with New Parishioner dinners.
FUNERAL LUNCHEON COMMITTEE Help provide luncheons after funerals by preparing and serving food, working at the luncheon, or by donating food.
LENTEN SOUP SUPPERS Held on Lenten Fridays, the supper is prepared and served by ministry groups or individual families. Freewill offering is given to charity.
SILVERTONES SENIORS GROUP Sponsors a variety of social activities, including church tours, dinner theatre trips, casino trips, and more. Meets the third Wednesday of each month, and new members are welcome.
QUILTERS GROUP Make quilts for donation to charitable organizations. Requires no previous skills or experience. Gather on the second Thursday and the fourth Friday of each month; open to everyone!
YOUNG ADULTS GROUP, 18 - 30 New, exciting social and service group! Get in on the ground floor and help establish the direction of this group and plan activities.
GARDEN & INDOOR PLANT CLUB Care for indoor plants in the building year round, and help plant and care for outdoor gardens during the warm weather.
TURKEY, SPAGHETTI, AND SJB FEAST DAY DINNERS These large parish-wide dinners are held once a year, and workers are recruited before each event by announcement.
STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE Work to promote stewardship as a way of life which is essential for the vitality of the parish and its many programs. Meets monthly. NOTE: The Ministry Fair Committee is a subgroup of this committee.
FALL FESTIVAL COMMITTEE Help organize the Parish's largest annual fundraiser, which is held the third weekend in September. Subcommittee members are also needed. Weekend workers are recruited in late August and early September. Commitments range from minimal to moderate, but everyone needed!
ARCHIVES COMMITTEE This committee has the important job of preserving the history of St. John's Parish by collecting, organizing, and storing various artifacts.
CEMETERY COMMITTEE Members meet twice a year to review overall operations, recommend pricing for cemetery plots, and update policies and brochures.
