PAX CHRISTI USA
Pax Christi commits itself to peace education and promotes the Gospel imperative of peace-making as a priority in the Catholic Church.

FOOD FOR THE POOR
The mission is to be a link from the Church of the First World to the Church of the Third World by helping the materially poor and the poor in spirit. We have a sister parish in Bull Bay, Jamaica, and have begun to raise funds to build a school.

FAIR TRADE PEACE COFFEE
The mission is to develop long term relationships with poor farmers and to change trade dynamics so that families can begin to receive a just price for their goods. Peace Coffee is sold monthly at St. John's.

HEIFER PROJECT
This is our Lenten school and faith formation project. Students raise money to buy animals which are given to families in poor countries so they can earn a living. St. John's will provide a matching grant.

SAN MIGUEL MIDDLE SCHOOL
This partnership with St. John's allows children from our parish school and faith formation to share experiences with children from our sister school in South Minneapolis: prayer partners, musical exchanges, financial assistance, and shared learning.

FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN
Help feed starving children worldwide by packaging nutritious food. St John's volunteers package food several times over the course of the year to feed children who are in need of good nutrition. Child volunteers must be in third grade and up. A wonderful family experience!

OSJ ACTION TEAMS
Volunteers from parishes across the Archdiocese come together to act collectively in faith. Action Teams work to educate communities of faith and make systemic change on healthcare, immigration, global warming, and education.

ISAIAH
St. John's is a member of the 81 congregations of ISAIAH who are moved by faith to act to transform the world, build up our congregations, and establish justice. ISAIAH brings to life the words of the prophet, "You shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in." New members are welcome to be a part of ISAIAH's core team at St. John's.

OPEN ARMS
Located on Franklin Avenue in South Minneapolis, volunteers help prepare, pack, and deliver meals to those who are homebound because of the HIV/AIDS virus. Volunteers only need to commit to one Friday a month.
