"It's a Bird, it's a Plane, it's... a cool Mobile of Mirrors!"
Jay Hunstiger, St. John's Worship & Music Director

Our new mobile of mirrors in St. Paul Plaza was originally handcrafted by Gaytee Stained Glass of Minneapolis and designed by the late William Saltzman for a bank building in Wayzata. Later, the bank was sold to another financial institution and remodeled, thereby necessitating the removal of the mobile which was then given back to the designer. It was put in storage and remained there for years.

Back when we were considering William Saltzman as a potential designer for the stained glass window above our Church's
Baptistry (which is not complete), a
photograph of the mobile turned into a
discussion of where we could find a new home for it. Both Bill and John Salisbury of Gaytee Stained Glass offered to donate the mobile to Saint John's for
free!

When the mobile was originally installed in the Wayzata bank building years ago, it cost $40,000.00.

And so, yet again, we are most grateful to all of our very generous benefactors for the
munificence bestowed upon St. John the Baptist Parish. We are truly blessed.

When you are admiring this classic mobile of mirrors elegantly swaying from the ceiling of St. Paul Plaza, please say a prayer for Bill and John Salisbury and all of our patrons.
