The ministry of Gift Bearer enacts an important ritual action, the presentation of the gifts during the Offertory for the preparation of the Altar. Gift Bearers are chosen from among the faithful to represent the entire congregation at Mass by presenting, on behalf of all, the gifts of bread and wine. Volunteering to present the gifts at Mass can be done any time, but it's also a great way to honor God in thanksgiving for anniversaries, birthdays and other special occasions. Serving in this capacity does not require special skills or training. Individuals or families who would like to bring the gifts of bread and wine to the altar during the Eucharistic liturgy are encouraged to sign up for this ministry.
