Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door through which we enter in order to receive the other sacraments.
Through Baptism, we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God. We become members of Christ and are incorporated into the Church. Through this sacrament we are made sharers in the Church’s mission. CCC 1213

Pastoral Leadership Commissions Meeting Night
Pastoral Leadership Commissions Meeting Night
February 14, 2023 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm
St. Joseph Hall
Description: ThePastoral Leadership Commission (PLC) is based on a servant leadership modelthat provides an opportunity for parishioners to share their time and talentswith our parish. Parishioners can serve as commission members on one of theeight commissions that support our parish. One member from each commissionparticipates as a representative on the PLC.
Three At-Large PLC members that are chosen by the Pastor alongwith the PLC representatives provide support and give feedback to the Pastor atPLC meetings. The PLC promotes our three core values among all commissions andpromotes the parish’s mission and theme for the year in all ministries.
The overall structure of this model allowsfor greater participation by parishioners in their parish and a more informedparish leadership group. It creates the opportunity for all parish commissionmembers and leaders to pray together for the people of St. John’s and theopportunity for more persons to become involved and active in other St. John’sministries.
Monthly commission meetings incorporate a simple meal followed byprayer before the Commission meetings and PLC meeting. The Commissions and thePastoral Leadership Council work in partnership with staff to develop thevision, policies and programs that support our Parish mission.
Please contact theparish office for more information.

February 15, 2023 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
St. John the Baptist is proud to partner with and refer our members to Benedictine Health Center at Innsbruck, a fellow trusted resource for community elders and their families. Together we are dedicated to providing a wealth of life care management services to help our beloved parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles live independently.
Do you know…
You can get a haircut at home from an ABLE volunteer if it is hard for you to get out?
We have volunteers that are willing to do respite for several hours if you cannot leave your loved one alone?
We have found help or referrals for yard clean up and housekeeping if you are having difficulties?
ABLE can help with grocery shopping after coming home from the hospital or make you simple meals?
ABLE volunteers can come for a visit and bring communion if you cannot get to Mass due to changes in health or the weather?
ABLE volunteers have helped with taxes; helped troubleshoot problems with electronics/computers?
All of our volunteers are from the parish and all have had background checks.
There are many resources out there that might help your situation. For more information, please call Mary Hartz, the parish nurse at 651-633-8333 ext. 1229 or email Mary.Hartz@bhshealth.org.
Mary is in the office Tuesday – Thursday.
