Youth Ministry Intern – Temporary
Job Purpose: The Youth Ministry Intern will support the Coordinator of Discipleship for Middle School Youth in forming disciples through various behind-the-scenes tasks and student-facing opportunities. This position will follow the direction of the youth minister and work collaboratively with volunteers in various capacities including but not limited to event preparation, leading small groups for middle and high schoolers, leading games, leading prayer, and other social and prayer events.

Coordinator of Discipleship for High School Youth and Young Adults

Job Purpose: To assist the parish with the ministry and formation needs of St. John’s families that have children in grades 9-12 as well as young adults ages 18-35 as they encounter Christ and learn to live within the heart of the Catholic Church.  This position will provide a dynamic and comprehensive program for youth in grades 9-12 serving youth from local public and private schools creating an environment where missionary discipleship can be lived.  This position will ministry to young adults connecting them together and within the structures of ministry at St. John’s.  Coordinate a 1-year confirmation preparation program for students in grades 9-12.Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and leading discipleship formation for youth through youth group and discipleship small groups as well as envisioning ministry teams such as Retreat Teams and Peer Ministry Teams.  Recruiting, forming, and equipping adult and teen leaders as they are guided to serve youth ministry needs.  Aiding in the significant transition times in a senior high teens life: from middle school to high school; high school to college; and into young adulthood.  This will include discipling parents and adults as well as youth. Compliance in all areas of the Archdiocese Safe Environment Policy is essential.

Intervention Teacher

St. John’s is seeking a full-time Intervention Teacher who is passionate, creative, positive, and dedicated with the desire to inspire our students and help then grow academically and spiritual in a Catholic school environment. This candidate should possess a love of working with students, especially Kindergarten students, ability to take work direction, ability to work independently, and the ability to assist in supervising students.on.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Coordinator

To assist the preschool and church with ministry and formation needs of children in preschool ages along with the families as they encounter Christ and learn to live within the heart of the Catholic Church.  This position will develop, coordinate, and implement the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd efforts in forming our youngest disciples in our preschool with growth to the church.

Responsibilities include leading the program in development, teaching, training, scheduling and supervision of catechists, assistants, and volunteers.  Working as team member alongside preschool staff in providing Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program to the religion curriculum.  Provide communication plan, material development, and maintenance of atrium. Work as a team member in ministry to young families with ministry offerings throughout the year.

K-5 Dean of Students

As the  Dean of Students  at St. John the Baptist Catholic School, your primary focus will be nurturing the growth of our K-5 students. Collaborating closely with the school principal and colleagues, you will spearhead various initiatives aimed at fostering positive behavior, emotional regulation, and community engagement. Your role will involve implementing and refining the school’s discipline programs, guiding students in managing their emotions and behaviors appropriately, supporting staff and parents, and supervising students across different settings.  The position also includes enforcing student conduct policies as well as effective communication with colleagues and parents as required while balancing the individual needs of students and the common good of the St. John the Baptist Catholic School community.

Finally, this position does require a deep understanding of K-5 student management practices, hands-on experience implementing effective student management strategies, knowledge of and commitment to uphold Minnesota state education standards, and willingness to assist administration with a variety of tasks as needed such as substitute teaching among others.
