An Announcement to the Parish from Father Skluzacek

Archbishop Hebda has appointed Fr. Paul Shovelain as Parochial Administrator of St. John the Baptist Parish and School, beginning July 1, 2019.    I am very happy with this appointment.  Fr. Paul has served our parish and school well these last three years as parochial vicar, and now he will lead our parishioners to become even more faithful disciples of the Lord Jesus.  A parochial administrator is bound by the same duties and enjoys the same rights as a pastor, but is not appointed for a term of office.   After a suitable time, at the discretion of the archbishop, he would be named pastor.  For more context around this appointment, please see the letters from me and Fr. Paul that will appear in this Sunday’s bulletin or click the link below.  Please join me in prayer for Fr. Paul as he prepares to assume the leadership of St. John the Baptist Parish and School.

A new parochial vicar (assistant priest) will also be named to assist Fr. Paul.  An announcement of who that is will be forthcoming.
