Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. John’s,

 

Back to School Night is less than a week away and FallFest is less than a month away! I think I can hear the preschoolers already from my office and smell booya in the vents! Oh wait, that’s just my imagination! However, we are looking forward to the many upcoming events at SJB where the Lord will call us forth into deeper holiness this year at SJB. As we plan on liturgies, ministries, and events, we are intentionally working to integrate invitations into deeper communion with God Himself. 

 

In our Gospel this weekend, we hear about accepting invitations with humility. To be called forth by Christ is a blessing and we should humbly welcome that invitation. We should accept the invitation not out of pride, but rather to serve the Lord with greater humility.
