Gather to Witness

October 19, 2023
Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. John’s,

As we begin the 2023-2024 school year, we are excited by the opportunity that this year’s theme of Gather to Witness presents to our school community, which has now reached 486 students in preschool through 8th grade! The focus of our theme for this year is to continue to grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ and then witnessing that love for Christ to others. Here are several ways we seek to gather to witness:

  • Embracing small group evangelization with our staff and middle school students.

  • Living out the virtues of hope, studiousness, humility, patience, fidelity, cheerfulness, temperance, obedience, and diligence.

  • Serving others through collections for our SJB food shelf, service days, Advent and Lent projects, and other additional ways.

  • Responding to the invitation to join God’s family and the Church as several school families pursue RCIC, RCIA, and the sacraments.

  • Inviting our families in so that we can witness to them during our Faith, Family, and Fellowship mornings as well as worshipping with the parish community at our weekly Wednesday Masses, our three grade level Sunday Masses, and our Catholic Schools Week Mass.

  • Attending Adoration and other faith experiences throughout the school year to spend time with the Lord and grow in friendship with Him.

It is with gratitude and joy that we start this school year: gratitude for all of those who built and supported our school over the past decades and great joy that we can continue to build upon the strong foundations of our faith. Please continue to pray for us and our school families, and we will continue to pray for you.

In Christ,
Ann Laird
