Happy Father’s Day!

By Fr. Kevin Magner

This Sunday is Father’s Day! Happy Father’s Day to all our dads and to those who have been father figures in our lives. Thank you for all your guidance, protection and love.

Next week Fr. Paul and I will join the rest of the priests of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis for the biannual Presbyteral Assembly. We will be gone from the afternoon of June 21 to the afternoon of June 24. There will be no morning Mass on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of next week but there will be a communion service on those mornings at the usual Mass time of 8:30 AM.

On Thursday evening, June 24, we will celebrate Mass at 5:30 PM in honor of the Solemnity of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, our parish’s patron saint. Following the Mass, there will be a cookout dinner in the west parking lot with live music provided by Impact Entertainment. Hot dogs, brats, chips, and dessert will be provided for dinner. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket and enjoy the evening with your fellow parishioners.

It’s hard to believe, but the following week is the beginning of July, which kicks off with a long holiday weekend. I hope you all get a chance to see family and friends as we celebrate our nation’s independence.

Get outside and enjoy the warm weather, folks. Summer goes by quickly!

Have a blessed week!
