Notes for the Week

by Fr. Kevin Magner

Please watch your mail this week for our parish’s Core Commitment 2021 pledge form and take a few minutes to fill it out and return it to our parish office. Think about how you and your family are willing to personally commit to adding to the life of our parish by living out our core values:
• Relying on prayer and allowing our hearts to be conformed to Christ’s heart by the Holy Spirit.
• Being willing to grow and letting the Holy Spirit fill our minds with the wisdom of God.
• Living out of a generous spirit and uniting our will to Christ’s will which allows the Holy Spirit to reveal Christ in the world.

Are you already getting in the mood to decorate for Christmas? Our parish’s Boy Scout Troop #9093 will be selling Christmas wreaths after all Masses this coming weekend. Please help support our Scouts by buying a wreath, evergreen swag, or garland for your Christmas decorations. Also, the 8th grade class at St. John’s School is selling poinsettia plants to raise money for their upcoming trip to Washington D.C. Orders and payment for the poinsettias will be accepted through Thursday, November 19 at either the school office (Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-3:30 PM) or the welcome desk in the church plaza.

Thank you to everyone who helped out this past week with the turkey dinners, both in preparing them and in the distribution of the meals. Well done, everyone!

Have a good week!
