TRANSITIONS

By Fr. Paul Shovelain

Tonight we celebrate the graduation of our 8th grade students from our wonderful Catholic school. I am very proud of our graduates and the ways they live out our beautiful Catholic faith. I am immensely grateful to our hard working faculty and staff as this has been a challenging 16 months, yet they have risen to the occasion and been willing to grow. Please pray for all those in transition that they would continue to grow with the grace of God into the saints he desires them to become.

This Saturday I will be concelebrating the priestly ordination Mass of my cousin, Josh Salonek, as well as SJB native, James Bernard. It is an exciting time for our local church! I will be concelebrating my cousin’s first Mass in St. Michael on Sunday so I will not be at the 10:30 Mass. I will be back at 6:15pm for the evening Mass at SJB. Remember it moved to 6:15pm through Labor Day weekend.

Please pray for the 4 families who have children receiving the Sacraments of Initiation at the 10:30am Mass on June 6th! That Mass will be a little longer, however, I am very much looking forward to that celebration!

Also, please note we are going down to one email a week for the summer, which will be on Thursdays. So there will be no email on Mondays for the summer.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
