Called Forth

January 12, 2023
Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. John’s,

We found baby Jesus! Thank you to everyone who joined us for Journey to the Inn last Saturday! We had over 330 people that journeyed with us to the manger to find the Christ Child! It was a memorable evening, and the love of God was shared!

I am excited to welcome our neighboring pastor to the west, Fr. James Peterson, from Immaculate Conception for Catholic Watchmen tonight. He will share about his ministry in Venezuela. It will be inspiring to hear how the Lord has called him forth and worked powerfully through him. Dinner is at 6:30 pm in St. Joseph Hall, with his presentation starting at 7:00 pm. The presentation will also be live-streamed on Facebook. We will also have Confessions and adoration with Benediction to conclude the night.

Please pray for the almost 50 women from SJB on retreat this weekend. The theme is Awaken and we pray that the Holy Spirit and the presence of God would be Awakened in the hearts and minds of these women. Come Holy Spirit!

Next Thursday, January 19 is our Preschool and Kindergarten Information and Enrollment Night from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm in St. Joseph’s Hall. At our information and enrollment night, you will receive a tour of our campus; have the opportunity to meet staff, parents, and students; ask questions about our school; and receive details about the enrollment process. Most importantly, you will learn why St. John the Baptist Catholic School is the perfect fit for your child! Come and learn more about our growing school!

There is still limited space available for the Ice Fishing tournament! Kadrie Insurance and the Knights of Columbus stepped forward to sponsor the event so we hope to have a light lunch afterward as well as door prizes. It will be a fun event! See below for more information.

As the Father loves me, so I also love you,
Father Paul Shovelain
Pastor
