IRA DISTRIBUTIONS
Make a gift to St. John the Baptist from your IRA. You can begin making Qualified Charitable Deductions (QCDs) from your IRA the year you turn 70 ½. If you are required to take distributions from your IRA, these Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) can also be designated for St. John the Baptist. For more information, consult your financial or tax advisor, or contact Mary May in the parish office at 651-633-8333, ext. 1253.
DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS
When you establish a Donor-Advised Fund, you may designate gifts from this fund to support St. John the Baptist. These funds provide immediate tax benefits and may be a good option for your charitable giving. Consult your financial advisor to learn more, or contact Mary May in the parish office at 651-633-8333, ext. 1253 for additional information.
GIFTS OF STOCK
Gifts of appreciated stock, bonds, or mutual funds may be donated and may also provide savings on capital gains tax. Please contact Director of Business Operations Beth Robertson or Director of Development or Mary May in the parish office at 651-633-8333 for more information.
EMPLOYER MATCHING GIFTS
Make your donation go further! Many employers match charitable gifts made by their employees. Check with your Human Resources department to see if your employer participates in a matching gift program. If your company does match gifts, you may need to designate your contribution to St. John the Baptist School due to religious exclusions. Please contact Mary May or Michelle Chock in the parish office if you have questions or need a receipt for your gift.
MAKE AN ENDOWMENT FUND GIFT
Endowment funds sustain our church, school, and cemetery in perpetuity. We currently have six endowment funds that are invested and stewarded by Catholic Community Foundation of Minnesota. These funds include Parish Operations, Capital, Cemetery, School Operations, Tuition Assistance, and the Pastoral Care Fund. For more information on these funds, please click here.
LEGACY GIFTS
When you include St. John the Baptist in your will or estate plan, you are assuring that your faith and values will be passed on to future generations. You also become a member of St. John the Baptist Legacy Society.
Another way to become a Legacy Society member is to name our parish as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement account.
Legacy Society members are honored each year on the Feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, celebrated June 24.
For more information on St. John the Baptist Legacy Society, please contact Mary May, Director of Development, at the parish office 651-633-8333, x1253 or email maym@stjohnnyb.org.
BITCOIN
St. John’s is now accepting donations of bitcoin! The Finance Commission carefully considered St. John’s taking donations in bitcoin, and has recommended that we offer this as an option for our donors. The parish has a Bitcoin account and we have already received a donation in bitcoin! To donate bitcoin contact Beth Robertson at the parish office, robertsonb@stjohnnyb.org, 651-633-8333, ext. 1215.
